ID Cell Groups

School years 9 – 11

There are 2 ID Cell groups – ID Boys and ID Girls.

ID – Boys

ID Boys meets weekly in term time on Monday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.00pm in the Church Centre, Kingston Road.  ID Boys is lead by Stu, Jon + George.  Most weeks there’s football or gaming to start and a good selection of snacks and drinks.  We get stuck into the bible and check out topics and issues that affect our everyday lives.  There’s chances to ask questions on pressing subjects and opportunities to pray/be prayed for.  We also do stuff like building bonfires down the beach, going out on the bikes or boards and wasting our lives on the Wii/Xbox :)

ID – Girls

ID girls meets weekly in term time on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.15 in a local family home.  ID girls is lead by Lovina, Elizabeth and Sarah on the youth team.  On the night there’s always ID Girls hot chocolate on tap as well as other snacks and drinks.  You can expect a good mix of girlie games and creative crafts as well as challenging biblical teaching and personal discipleship.  Any question is ok and there’s always opportunities to pray/be prayed for.  We also do stuff like D+M’s down round the bonfire, chocolate fondue night, jewellery making and ice creams down the prom.

ID Teaching Focus = Who am I?

Young people in this age group are having to deal with a lot of changes in themselves and a lot of changes in their world.  Therefore the main focus of the teaching is on identity, and rooting our identity in Jesus and what he says about us over what we think about ourselves, or what others think about us.  It is a time for young people to weigh up the world’s views and challenge their own beliefs.  ID is definitely a place where any question can be asked!
